renovations

So much can be done to renovate older homes and extend their lives for many years. Edmonton has an abundance of post war homes as well as a few 100+ year old homes which typically have single bathrooms, very small kitchens and minimal closet space. By removing walls, adding dormers or second floors, or re-planning basements, we can vastly improve your vintage home’s efficiency, comfort, aesthetics and resale value.

Current Renovation

Our current renovation project is of a 1948 1.5 story home, typical of Edmonton’s wartime homes, to bring it up to current energy efficiency standards, increase the floor space by adding 3 dormers, a new bathroom, front porch and covered verandah. We are stripping the old stucco siding, and removing the bat insulation from the outside, leaving the interior intact. The walls are strapped to increase the walls from 4” to 6”, allowing for more insulation. A combination of spray foam and rigid insulation will be used. We will post progress photos throughout the project.
